Everest base camp trekking is one of the frequently organized and most demanded trekking trails in Nepal. It is one of the classic trekking trails in Nepal. This is one of the most popular destinations in the world because the travelers are able to reach to the lap of the highest point of the earth, the Mt. Everest, 8,848 m and even have a summit on it. The trekking to Everest region has been popular in the world ever since, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenjing Norgay for the first time made a successful summit on this highest peaks in 1953. Everest region is located in the north-east of the country in Solukhumbu district, the home of legendary and friendly Sherpa ethnic groups, who have earned their name and fame in the tourism sector primarily in the expedition.

Everest base camp trekking usually consists of trekking in the high altitude area mostly covering above 3,000 m, and thus it is dobbed to be challenging trekking, however, it goes through the well-developed path otherwise, you can spend time around the low altitude areas basically exploring of scenic views of the mountains from a bit distance, exploring other cultural richness etc. The trekking to Everest base camp begins with short flight from Kathmandu to Lukla airport and then follows the classical route to Everest camp or begins with a day drive from Kathmandu to Bhandar (Earlier the trekking begins from the place called Jiri, but these days the bus available up to Bhandar, a gateway to Solukhumbu) and follows the classical route to the base camp. The trekking in this region can be shortened or extended as per the requirements and schedule of the travelers. After making the trips to the base camp, you will return back to Lukla airport and fly back to Kathmandu or walk up to Bhandar along the same route and return back to Kathmandu.
